Grand Lodge of Belize

The Grand Lodge of Belize is recognized by the United Grand Lodge of England as the regular Masonic authority in Belize. Constituted on June 12, 2012, in Corozal Town, it was formed when three lodges — Corozal Fraternity No. 1, Pythagoras Masonic Lodge No. 2, and Armonia Universal No. 3 — that had previously operated under the Grand Lodge of the State of Andrés Quintana Roo, Mexico, petitioned that grand lodge to authorize their formation as an independent sovereign body. The Grand Lodge of Andrés Quintana Roo, which traces its regular lineage ultimately to the Grand Lodge of Veracruz (1885) and through it to UGLE, authorized the formation of the new grand lodge and ceded its jurisdiction in Belize. UGLE subsequently extended recognition.
The Grand Lodge of Belize is headquartered in Corozal, near the Mexican border in northern Belize, where its Masonic Temple on College Road serves as the official meeting place and grand lodge office. The grand lodge today serves six lodges across the country, from Corozal in the north to Mango Creek in the south. A separate Prince Hall-affiliated lodge — Steadfast Lodge No. 683, chartered by the Union Grand Lodge of Florida and Belize in 1963 — also operates in Belize City. The Union Grand Lodge of Florida and Belize is itself recognized by UGLE and covers PHA Masonry in both Florida and Belize territory.
