Appendant Masonic Bodies in Honduras

The Scottish Rite and York Rite are active in Honduras, primarily in San Pedro Sula and Tegucigalpa. The Supreme Council of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite for Honduras is a sovereign national body, independent of the Northern and Southern US Scottish Rite Jurisdictions, governing the higher degrees in Honduras. Scottish Rite Valleys are most active in San Pedro Sula, the industrial capital and home of the Grand Lodge headquarters, reflecting the concentration of professional and commercial class membership there.
York Rite bodies — Royal Arch Chapters, Cryptic Councils, and Knights Templar Commanderies — operate in Honduras, primarily in the capital Tegucigalpa and in San Pedro Sula. The York Rite tradition arrived alongside the Blue Lodge structure in the early years of organized Honduran Freemasonry.
Shriners International is represented in Honduras through Anezeh Shrine Temple, based in Houston, whose territorial jurisdiction covers Mexico and Central America. Honduran Shriners support the Shriners Children's hospital network; the nearest Shriners Children's facility serving the region is in Mexico City. The Anezeh connection reflects the long-standing relationship between Honduran Freemasonry and the broader Latin American and Mexican Masonic community.
Allied bodies including the Order of the Eastern Star are active in Honduras's lodge communities. Honduras is a member of COMACA (Central American Masonic Confederation), which coordinates regional Masonic relations and provides a framework for appendant body coordination across the isthmus. Given the small size of the lodge community, before any appendant body visit.
